Madagascar at heart
Long-distance adoption is one of many ways to help Sister Claudine continue in her work of maintaining the orphanage in Ambalakilonga. But it is not the only one. Everything is needed there, including you. If you are inclined to volunteer, if you are not afraid to discover how lucky you are to live in Italy, if you want to have an experience that will mark you for life, contact Sister Claudine directly.
A long-distance adoption helps a child; volunteering in Madagascar will help you much more.

Perhaps not everyone knows how poor Madagascar is. Not everyone knows that it is 1 ½ times the size of Italy, where a 50 kg sack of rice costs 30 euros, an average salary less than 150 euros, gasoline 1.30 per liter.......The infant mortality rate is 123 per thousand compared to 2.4 in Italy. Among the causes of infant mortality is the general health shortage that turns even trivial infections, treatable in other settings, into fatalities. Our bodies can defend themselves, adapting to the most extreme conditions with incredible resilience. But the basis of everything must be proper nutrition.
In Madagascar the rate of chronic malnutrition is at 47 percent in children under the age of five, and the problem also affects young mothers. Paradoxically, in Madagascar you can enjoy fantastic and varied dishes, fish , meat and tasty vegetables and see the latest Toyota suv shining under splendid hotels......available to wealthy tourists.
Sister Claudine is on the front lines, no ifs or buts. Sustained by an unwavering Faith she organizes and concretely runs this orphanage with her sisters, she invents the unthinkable to feed nearly 100 children, but she cannot do it alone. The unexpected is always lurking and can be catastrophic in its banality, and you wonder in the end why it happened to them.
We could go on and tell anecdotes to pity the reader for the purpose of raising some handouts, but that is not the goal. We want to help Sister Claudine not give up, because the results are obvious. A donation to this project is much more than a sack of rice; it is a tribute to those who dedicate their lives to others.
Helping Sister Claudine is very simple and transparent, you can contact her personally via whatsapp, or send her an email to [email protected] . If you book at Residence Stelvio you can choose the "Sister Claudine" Rate from the various proposals, 20 euros of the amount paid will be automatically allocated to this project.
On the other hand, for those who would like to take advantage of the tax breaks that currently exist, they can do so through donations to the association nero a metà O.N.L.U.S., which works with Sister Claudine in Italy to disseminate and raise funds for her project. Every long-distance adoption saves a child every year
